Urbanization & Health In Spotlight On World Health Day  
World Health Day 2010 is dedicated to urbanization and health. This year's campaign '1000 cities, 1000 lives', highlights the impact of urban living on human health and encourages efforts to make cities healthier places for people to live. A special assembly was conducted on 7th April 2010 by the students of class IX A to draw worldwide attention to a subject of major importance of global health.
The students made posters on,’ The Effects of Globalization and Health the chosen theme for 2010. A quiz contest was held on the ill-effects of urbanization on health. With the help of a skit and speech the students drew attention to the subject.
Students and teachers took an oath and urged all the countries of the world to promote health development and a better quality of life.

Diabetes Education & Prevention  
WDD is the primary global awareness campaign of the diabetes mellitus world and is held on November 14 each year to address issues facing the diabetes community. As diabetes escalates worldwide, the Blue House students launched an awareness campaign on promoting a healthy and an active lifestyle that will help prevent the spread of the disease and its complications. The key aim of the World Diabetes Day campaign was to establish access to diabetes education as a right for all people with diabetes. The students spread the message that, “this day is about mobilizing the global diabetes community to produce a powerful voice for diabetes awareness. We want all concerned to take the necessary action to control an epidemic that affects the lives of more than 300 million people in the world today” . Posters and articles displayed the hazards of the sugar disease and showed its effects on the various organs like heart, kidney and eye.

National Sports Day
National Sports Day  
KPS being an esteemed educational institution stands committed in recognizing sports as a key ingredient to nurture healthy children who will bring laurels for the state and the country.
August 29 is instituted as National Sports Day in tribute to the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand. To celebrate the birth anniversary of the ‘Hockey wizard’ the students of Yellow House created a receptive learning environment filled with fun and adrenaline during the morning assembly.
Mock drills and matches of hockey, football and cricket were organized to motivate the students. Prizes were awarded to the winners to give impetus to students to build a strong team. Mrs. Priyanka Tripathi, Principal was personally present to lend able support and guidance to students who have the ambition to play various sports with perfect spirit. World Animal Welfare Day  
Research has proved that there are numerous benefits in encouraging children to care for animals. It helps to develop a sense of responsibility and compassion in them.
The Green House students conducted a special assembly on 6th Oct. 2010 to mark the World Animal Welfare Day. The message to cultivate kindness for animals was conveyed through speeches, charts and posters.
An enriching skit exhibited the ill-treatment of animals by humans in circus, medical research and fashion world. The Director, Mr. Ashutosh Tripathi, kindled children’s interest in animals by emphasizing on the conservat ion of endangered species. He acknowledged the roles animals play in our lives and encouraged the children to read wildlife encyclopedias and humane themed story books.
Mrs. Pr iyanka Tr ipathi , fur ther encouraged the students to turn their passion for animals into meaningful action .The students’ performance and initiative to advocate the cause was highly commendable.

Reaffirming the universal relevance of the principle of non-violence and desiring to secure a culture of peace, tolerance and understanding, the Blue House students by Kr i s h n a P u b l i c Sc h o o l commemorated the Non Violence Day during the morning assembly. The assembly commenced by quoting the words of Mahatma Gandhi, “Non-Violence is the greatest force at the disposal of mankind. It is mightier than the mightiest weapon of destruction devised by the ingenuity of man”. A skit was staged to spread the philosophy and st rategy of non-violence. Slogans on non-violence further enthused the audience. The assembly concluded with a pledge administered by all the students to become peace makers and models of active non-violence.
 
World Heritage Day
World Heritage Day  
World heritage is the shared wealth of human kind. Protecting and preserving this valuable asset demands the collective effort of the international community. This special day offers an opportunity to raise the public awareness about the diversity of cultural heritage and the efforts that are required to protect and conserve it, as well as draw attention to its vulnerability.
To celebrate the abundance of this enriched but dilapidating World Heritage KPS set its foot by including the cause in a special assembly on 18th April 2010. The assembly stretched into various chain of events-addressing concern related to the issues and suggesting various measures to strike a balance between the growing needs of exploding population and the exploitation of the invaluable heritage.

सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः सर्वे सन्तु निरामया सर्वे भद्राणि पद्गयन्तु मा कद्गिचत्‌ दुखभाग भवेत्‌।
कृष्णा पब्लिक स्कूल डॅूंडा (देवपुरी) रायपुर में संस्कृत सप्ताह बहुत ही धूमधाम से मनाया गया। समापन कार्यक्रम मे मुखय अतिथि द्वारा देवी सरस्वती को दीप प्रज्वलित करके तथा माल्यार्पण किया गया । संस्कृत सप्ताह में अनेक प्रकार की प्रतियोगिताए आयोजित की गई जैसे - द्यलोक गीतगायन प्रतियोगिता, द्याब्द-अन्त्याक्षरी प्रतियोगिता, स्वपरिचय प्रतियोगिता, परियोजना कार्य इत्यादि। द्यलोक तथा गीत गायन प्रतियोगिता में प्रतीक्षा जोद्गाी प्रथम, मयंक द्यार्मा द्वितीय तथा अनुश्री घोच्च तृतीय स्थान पर रहे। अन्त्याक्षरी प्रतियोगिता में नौवीं कक्षा से पूर्वा बानी, तान्या वर्मा, कुद्गाी द्गिाखा, द्याुचिता नैयर, चिन्तन तन्ना, विकास, कार्तिकेय, रोनित, अनामिका तथा दीपक विजेता रहे। दसवीं कक्षा से दीक्षा, द्याावी द्गिाखा, कुद्गाल, निखिल, आद्गाीच्च, तरंग, उमंग, श्रीलेखा, सुवीरा, श्रुति ओझा, अदिति, ऋचा, प्रांजल, सौरभ विजेता घोच्चित किए गए । सभी प्रतियोगी बधाई के पात्र हैं। समापन दिवस के द्याुभ अवसर पर संस्कृत प्रार्थना सभा का आयोजन किया गया। आयोजन में अनेक प्रकार के सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए गए। कार्यक्रम की समस्त रूपरेखा द्गिाक्षकों के सहयोग से विद्यार्थियों द्वारा तैयार की गई, कार्यक्रम का मुखय आकर्च्चण समूह गान तथा भाच्चण था जिसमें संस्कृत के महत्व पर प्रकाद्गा डाला गया। समूह गान भिन्न-भिन्न आयुवर्ग के द्वारा प्रस्तुत किया गया। कार्यक्रम के समापन में विद्यालय के संस्थापक श्री एम.एम.त्रिपाठी जी ने अपने उद्‌बोधन से छात्रों का उत्साह वर्धन किया।

''निज भाषा उन्नति अहै हर भाच्चन को मूल बिन निज भाषा के मिटे न हिय को सूल॥'' कृष्णा पब्लिक स्कूल में १४ सितंबर को 'हिंदी-दिवस' के अवसर पर कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया। इस अवसर पर प्रार्थना सभा में लघु कार्यक्रम रखे गए जिसमें बच्चों ने कविता, गीत, भक्तिगीत व लघुवृत्त चित्र प्रस्तुत कर इसे और भी अधिक मनोरंजक बना दिया। साथ ही हिंदी मुहावरे व लोकोक्तियों को भाषा की अभिव्यक्ति व शब्दों में निखार लाने का सद्गाक्त माध्यम बताकर मुहावरे युक्त भाषा का प्रयोग करते हुए एक लघु नाटक प्रस्तुत किया तथा हिंदी साहित्य इतिहास के भक्तिकालीन कवि श्री कबीरदास, तुलसीदास, रसखान व मीराबाई के जीवनवृत्त की प्रस्तुति ने कार्यक्रम को और भी जीवंत बना दिया। साथ ही बच्चों ने इन संत कवियों के जीवनवृत्त व उनकी प्रमुख रचनाओं पर संक्षिप्त में प्रकाद्गा डाला। कक्षा १ के बच्चों ने राम, लक्ष्मण व कृष्ण की 'बाल छवि' प्रस्तुति देकर इसे जीवंतता प्रदान की। इस तरह हिंदी-दिवस के अवसर पर कार्यक्रम का आयोजन हिंदी भाषा में ही संपन्न हुआ। राजभाषा के सम्मान में द्यााला के डायरेक्टर श्री आशुतोष त्रिपाठी ने इस अवसर पर कहा कि हिंदी वह भाषा है जो हमारे देश की संस्कृति को एकता के सूत्र में पिरोती है। हमें अपनी राजभाषा की गरिमा को बनाए रखना होगा। यह जन-जन की भाषा है, अपनी मातृभाषा है, इसका स्थान सर्वोपरि होना चाहिए। इस अवसर पर द्यााला की प्राचार्या श्रीमती प्रियंका त्रिपाठी व उपप्राचार्य श्री अनुराग गुलाल भी उपस्थित थे। इस तरह यह 'हिंदी दिवस' राजभाषा के सम्मान में आनन्द पूर्वक संपन्न हुआ।

More to protect those caught up in armed conflict, to fight climate change and avert nuclear catastrophe; more to expand opportunities for women and girls, and to combat injustice and impunity; more to meet the Millennium Development Goals”. said, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on UN Day 2010.
Emphasizing the UN global action plan to achieve the eight goals by 2015 the students of Red House devoted the morning assembly to one of the goals which is to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger. The proceedings of the UN General Assembly were dramatized wherein the representatives of UNESCO, ILO and FAO expressed their difficulty in attaining food security. IMF suggested measures for higher food production and efficient distribution of food between countries.
Mr. Ashutosh, Director of the school, reflected on the achievements of the UN since 64 years. He stressed the importance of food and encouraged the students to prevent the wastage of food and contribute to world food security by taking a pledge together.

World AIDS Day  
World Aids Day marks the spread of awareness of the worst epidemic humanity has ever faced. It has affected 41 million people across the world.
The students of Yellow House organized, ‘Stop Aids, Love Life’ campaign to commemorate the day. They expressed their views on the causes, symptoms and prevention of the Aids virus. A skit was staged which highlighted the need of young researchers to discover a preventive vaccine to combat the disease. It expressed that Aids victims need treatment, care, support and concern. World Aids Day was practised in the school with all teachers and students tieing a red ribbon, which symbolises the disease and the pledge to eradicate it.
The assembly concluded by releasing balloons in the air signifying the aim of the day that with more effort and sincerity, we can all fight and prevent the spread of the disease and discrimination of people living with Aids.
