Early Childhood Education Global Conference 2010
 |
|
India’s first ever ECE-Global Conference was
convened on 17 July 2010 at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai.
Dr. Elanna Yalow, an alumni of the Stanford School of
Education, in her keynote address advocated a strong case
for larger investment of resources in early childhood education. She made the startling
revelation that 70% of an individual’s brain development takes place between the age of
0 - 3 years.
Mrs. Priyanka Tripathi, Principal participated in the conference and gave her
valuable ideas for early childhood investment in terms of education.
A child’s early experience influences the ability to think, speak, learn and
establish relationships.
|
|
|
Therefore, the quality of a child’s early education should be
exceptionally good as it affects the child’s future development, both cognitively
and socially, its economic well being and success in school and workplace. It
is far more difficult to build skills when there is a weak foundation of
brain circuit. The benefits of childhood education not only impacts
the individual child, but also the society, nation and world.
Prof. Jeremy B. Williams, Singapore based CAO of
Knowledge University emphasized that recent research
clearly demonstrates that ECE generates significant
returns. The other eminent speakers of the
forum Mrs. Leena Ashar, Dr. Vrinda Dutta
(TISS), provided valuable insight into
deep research and advances in
p r e - s c h o o l e d u c a t i o n
worldwide.

They should be brought out from the sense of complacency which they are hiding and for this he suggested few methods like science adventure, bio gardening, daily news, shared reading etc. Science adventure would increase the student’s interest if they would make models and projects from the topics, being pursued in the class.
Brien, suggested that sections of the school terrace should be allotted to the students to turn it into a garden. They should maintain it and this would be a practical experience for them to apply their knowledge . Students should remain abreast with every day news and to enforce it any student from the assembly would be expected to read out the day’s news on stage. Through shared reading there would be a great mingling among the students and enhancing of knowledge since seniors would coach the juniors. This would also upgrade the students’ subject clarity.

that a smooth communication channel is essential
to bring all our stakeholders closer. KPS always
stands for the technology to enhance the teaching
learning process in and beyond the classroom. As
we know, school websites today are seen as a one
way communication, little more than a virtual
notice board.
KPS wanted to enable every stakeholder of the
school to Connect, Communicate and
Collaborate and also wanted to provide the
power to experience education with a
technological advantage, and also a Platform
to Network.

their own group of friends, connecting with
classmates for sson missed or with

arranged a one-day training programme for the teachers, led
by Mr. Balaji and Mr. Sanjay, the company personnel. Realizing the
